Submission (Regulation 16) Consultation

During September through to November 2018, the Thurston Neighbourhood Plan Team updated the draft plan from comments received during the consultation period under Regulation 14 of the The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations, 2012 (as amended). 

On 19 December 2018, the Parish Council, following the consultation on the Regulation 14 draft of the Thurston Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents and having confirming that, after analysis of comments and representations received, there were no substantive changes to be made, formally submitted the Thurston Neighbourhood Plan to Mid Suffolk.

As such, in accordance with Regulation 16 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations, 2012 (as amended) the Parish Council, as the qualifying body having formally submitted the document to the District Council requested that it carried out its checks to confirm that the relevant requirements have been met at this stage as per Regulation 15 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations, 2012 (as amended),  so that formal consultation on the content of the Thurston Neighbourhood Plan could proceed to the next stage.

Mid Suffolk District Council confirmed that and 

The formal consultation of the Thurston NDP under Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended) commenced on Monday 21 January 2019 and finished at 4.00pm on Wednesday 6 March 2019.

Comments were invited on whether the ‘plan proposal’ as submitted (the draft Plan and supporting documentation) fulfilled the Basic Conditions as required by Paragraph 8(1)(a)(2) of Schedule 4B to the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (inserted by the Localism Act 2011). 

• The Thurston Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents were made available to view on the District Council website at:  please click on the address to be redirected to the website. 

• Printed copies of the Plan and other required submission documents were able to be inspected during normal opening hours at the following locations in Thurston: Thurston Community Library, IP31 3PB and, at the Thurst Café [New Green Community Centre], IP31 3TG. 

A set of documents were also avaialable from the Parish Clerk.

All were reminded that all comments received would be forwarded on to the appointed Examiner.
