If you are interested in family history or local history, the Ancestry group meets at the Library on Thursdays at 3:30pm.
Ancestry and Findmypast genealogy sites may be used free of charge anytime in the library. New and existing researchers welcomed.

Pilates Matwork Class at New Green Community Centre
Mondays 6.15pm — 7.15pm - £7.00 per session
Warm up, Technique, Slow gentle moves, stretches and additional moves for the more experienced.
Please bring mat and head towel.
New members are welcome. We meet, socially every other Thursday evening, for many different activities to suit the wide variety of ages of our members including theatre trips, pub pentathlon, tenpin bowling, quiz nights, snooker and dining out. Additionally we hold charity and fund raising events, for both global and Thurston organisations.

All ages and abilities welcome so come and join this friendly group at THURST coffee shop, New Green Community Centre every Tuesday morning between 10 and 12 noon.

This club is open to all Thurston residents aged 55 and over. We meet at New Green centre on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month when members can enjoy a pre-lunch drink from 11:30 and lunch is at 12:30. Occasional outings and speakers too.

VIP club for the Visibly Impaired
We have a friendly meeting each month @ Moreton Hall Community Centre, within easy reach of Thurston, with speakers, raffle, teas and events. We offer welcome to people with sight problems, who may be house bound, to meet other members with similar problems and enjoy a laugh and a chat. Cats Protection (Bury St Edmunds Branch) is the local branch of the National cat charity covering this area.. Our aims are to rescue stray and unwanted cats and kittens, rehabilitate and re-home where possible, to encourage the neutering of all cats and kittens not required for breeding and to provide information to the public on the care of cats and kittens.

We are your local ladies North West clog dancing group. A friendly welcome awaits anyone who would like to join us at our Sunday practices, in Haughley Village Hall at 7.30 pm. All the dancers are ladies, but men and women play in our band - however good or bad you consider yourself to be come along and give it try.
Joining Haughley Hoofers not only keeps you fit but can open up a new social life for you and your family. During the summer we dance at many local events as well as making weekend visits to various different counties in England, and sometimes to Europe. We are a very friendly enthusiastic troupe.
If you think you would like to join, or just watch to see what we are all about, we begin our Sunday practices at 7.30pm September 30th please pop in any Sunday evening after 30 September to see what happens.
