Sites submitted under the Expression of Interest for Sites

At the bottom of this page are the files containing the sites that have been submitted under the recent Expression of Interest for Sites to be considered for development within Thurston's Neighbourhood Plan. Each site has been given a generic number which has no reflection as to its suitability for development. Where able a brief summary has been provided as to the possible uses for each site as submitted by the land owner/developer.

Please note that for those of you who are using an ipad or an iphone to open the documents, it is recommended that they are opened in iBooks which will allow the detail to be displayed.

These sites are still subject to an assessment process which will be used to:

1. eliminate those sites/parcels of land which would not meet suitability criteria and therefore could not be considered to be sustainable allocations in the Neighbourhood Plan

2. identify a set of potential sites which meet the aspirations of the Neighbourhood Plan and community engagement will help the process of determining which sites are most suitable for allocation in the NP

At the end of the assessment there will be a preferred sites consultation. This consultation will explain why the sites (or combination of sites) have been chosen and why others not. This does not mean that all sites will be developed.

At the Public Meeting on 17th March 2016 in the New Green Centre, members of the public were asked to look at each site that had been submitted under Thurston Neighbourhood Plan's Expression of Interest in Sites to be Considered for Development and answer the following questions:

  1. Is this site suitable for development? If yes, why?
  2. Is this site suitable for development? If no, why?

For those members of the public who were not able to attend the meeting or who wished for more time to consider these questions and sites a further round of consultation on the sites submitted will commence on 2nd April and finish on 17th April 2016.

All responses to the above questions for all of the sites or an individual site (please indicate the site reference to which you are referring) should be submitted to the Clerk to the Parish Council
